Access matters here, too
Accessibility statement
How we approach accessibility on this website, and how to reach us if something is hard to use.
Our goal
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, switches or a keyboard instead of a mouse. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we have done
- Every page has a skip link, a clear heading structure, and labelled landmarks.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard alone, and the keyboard focus is always visible.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are described in text and announced to screen readers.
- Text and controls are designed to meet the WCAG colour contrast requirements.
- Pages adapt to small screens and to enlarged text, and animation is switched off if your device asks for reduced motion.
- The site works without third-party scripts, trackers or embedded media.
Display and reading options
Every page has two buttons on the right edge of the screen: Accessibility options (a person inside a circle) and Listen to this page (a speaker). They are also the first things you reach after the skip link when you tab through the page. The options let you change the text size (up to 200%), choose a dyslexia-friendly font (OpenDyslexic) or a high-legibility font (Atkinson Hyperlegible), add extra spacing, underline all links, and reduce motion. You can choose light, dark or soft cream colors, or one of four high-contrast color schemes: white on black, yellow on black, black on yellow, or black on green. Choose Listen to have the page read aloud, or select some text first to hear only that part. Your choices are stored only in your own browser and are never sent to us. Reading aloud uses your browser's built-in speech, so the voice and its quality depend on your device.
How we check
We test pages with automated tools (axe) and by using the site with a keyboard. Automated tools find only some problems, so we continue to review pages by hand, including with screen readers, and we re-check whenever the site changes.
Known limitations
We are not currently aware of any barriers on this website. This statement is our own assessment and is not a formal third-party audit or a legal statement of compliance.
